We invite you to join us for our Annual Trailblazer and Scholarship Gala on September 19, 2026 at the Omni New Haven Hotel. This year’s Gala carries extra meaning. Under the theme “A Night of Impact & Gratitude,” we pause to celebrate not only our outstanding Trailblazer honorees and rising scholars — but also the extraordinary compassion our community demonstrated in response to Hurricane Melissa.
Because of you, relief efforts for Hurricane Melissa made a tremendous impact on Jamaica!

Community Service is paramount to our purpose. As such, we have
Hosted Immigration Forums and the Registrar General of Jamaica | Volunteered at Soup Kitchens | Fed the Homeless | Collected useful supplies and shipped barrels for the islands of Jamaica, Haiti and Dominica | Support the work of the Nathan Ebanks Foundation in Jamaica | Collected and donated children's clothing to the Woman's Inc. Centre in Jamaica through a partnership with AFJ. Collected and donated medical supplies to Jamaica through a partnership with Reverend Janice Hart and the American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ)
Walk to End Alzheimer's
The Jamaican American Connection (JAC) proudly participated in this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Lighthouse Point Park! It was an inspiring day of unity, purpose, and community as we walked together in support of all those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

Signage for The Shack
In June of 2024, JAC donated a new sign to increase visibility for The Shack: 333 Valley Street Intergenerational Organization that provides a creative and nurturing space for residents of the Valley Street area of New Haven, CT.
